Nylstar Europe was formed in 1994, when Rhodia and Snia put their nylon businesses into a
50/50 joint venture, forming the largest textile denier nylon supplier in Europe.
After successfully importing European yarns into the US, Nylstar USA bought the AMFIBE nylon
manufacturing facility near Martinsville VA in 2000 and expanded the plant with state-of-the-art equipment.
The plant is one of the most modern nylon facilities in the world, with extensive use of robotics. We are a
very efficient, relatively low cost manufacturing nylon facility producing high quality nylon for Circular Knit,
Hosiery, Warp Knit and Weaving applications.
Nylstar Inc. is currently owned by JP Morgan Chase and today Nylstar Inc. is no longer
associated with the European operation.
